the band
Silly Automatic - three core members - paul
dews, david
wilkinson and sohail
khan, have been together in this incarnation since 1999.
Essentially they work as a collaborating songwriting team
that also performs
its own music live - stuff - their first
effort has been produced by cutenasty...
Silly Automatic was a solo musical
project started in 1996 by guitarist/singer/songwriter Paul Dews.
Paul was a founder member of rock band 13th Hour which gigged extensively
on the pub circuit throughout East Anglia and the home counties
during the 80's. The single 'Stereo Smiles' climbed high in the
Melody Maker independent chart. Paul was also a member of bands
Go Beserk which featured Stevie V of 'Dirty Cash' fame, and Chimera,
a studio based band who recorded at Beaumont Street Studios in Huddersfield
and were engineered by Steve Whitfield - who was also working with
The Cure, Bill Bruford and The Mission.
