Situated in stunning surroundings, overlooking the island of Hoy and the sea, can sleep five adults comfortably, in three bedrooms - one double, one twin-bedded and one single room. Six people can be managed if one is a baby or small child.
has a large luxurious sitting room, a large comfortable conservatory with a dining area and a well equipped kitchen/dining room. There is a bathroom and a shower room (both with WC), a heated coat cupboard and each of the three bedrooms have a hanging cupboard, chest of drawers, chair, bed side tables and reading lights. also has a cot and a child size bed available by prior arrangement. All bed linen and towels are provided for your stay.
The house has oil-fired central heating, triple glazing throughout, and a solid fuel stove in the sitting room. In the kitchen there is an oil-fired Aga, electric hob and microwave (which can also be used as a conventional oven). There is also a fully equipped laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a television, video and payphone.
has been decorated and furnished to suit the taste of the owners, Matilda and Christopher, who are both artists and enjoy a Scandinavian style simplicity. The Art and Crafts movement has influenced their choice of colours and furnishings, and many of their own paintings hang on the walls.
There are stone floors in the kitchen and hallway and the carpeted sitting room has a chapel-like quality with its white walls and barrelled ceiling. Both the sitting room and the conservatory are spacious and comfortable, facing out over Hoy and the black Craig, from where you can take the wonderful headland walk to see the stunning coastline and rock stacks of Yesnaby.
Bird watching, walking, beachcombing and visiting nearby Stromness are just a few of the activities for which is ideally situated. For pure relaxation and tranquillity, however, this house is also the perfect place.
