The art gallery in a shoebox - the Peedie Gallery is a portable, miniature,
fully functioning visual art gallery based in Orkney, run by myself and
my partner Clare Gee.
The aim
of
the project is to manage a physical exhibition space for artists,
on
as small
a
budget
as
possible - and
to contribute to
the dialogue locally, and outwith Orkney, concering galleries
and the visual arts. The Peedie Gallery shows work by artists from Orkney
and beyond and the location of the gallery changes for each exhibition.

ussr1049 is the name of the artistic collaborative established in the early 1990s by myself and Clare Gee. As ussr1049 (the name is taken from the name of a computer virus), we develop collaborative work based around a number of themes, including;
We use a wide range of media - from traditional drawing and collage
to mail art, textiles, photography and film - and often implement rubber
stamping,
xerox and mass media print techniques in our work. We also produce multiples,
bookworks and ephemera.
