Michael Gray’s music books honoured
Both recent books by respected music writer Michael Gray have been picking up literary awards.
The Bob Dylan Encyclopedia (Continuum) picked up several gongs, including Music Book of the Year of the American magazine, ForeWord. (The revised/updated Bob Dylan Encyclopedia has been put back to mid-June on bothsides of the Atlantic, but will then be published simultaneously by Continuum in the US and UK.)
And Hand Me My Travelin’ Shoes: In Search of Blind Willie McTell, has been shortlisted for this year’s James Tait Black Prize for Non-Fiction. (London:Bloomsbury, 2007 - paperback due out October 2008)
