Modern Times's influences analysed in new issue of Uncut
Thanks to the vigilant Martin Cowan for his alert to the new issue of Uncut, the glossy Brit Dadrock-to-Hollywood-blockbuster-and-popcelebs monthly:
“Worth checking out the new UNCUT, as it has a track-by-track analysis of the influences/borrowings in Modern Times. “Interestingly, in Jonathan Cott's new book, Dylan on Dylan, in the Robert Hilburn interview at the back, Dylan explains how he writes songs, evidence of which there's plenty in the new album. He says he meditates on an old blues song, and from this meditation he writes new words to replace the original words.”
