Raving about Modern Times: encore…
Thanks to Jean-Pol Hiernaux and Mike Ollier:
Jean-Pol Hiernaux:
“Modern Times is already on sale in all shops in my town (Namur in Belgium) since Friday 25 August (both regular edition and special limited edition with DVD bonus)! “This limited edition is in a very nice digipak. And the music is magnificent. The DVD bonus tracks are (according to the liner notes): 1. Blood In My Eyes - Promotional video for the album World Gone Wrong, 1993
2. Love Sick - Live at Radio City Music Hall, New York City, The Grammy Awards, February 25, 1998
3. Things Have Changed - Promotional video for the soundtrack to the film Wonder Boys, 2000
4. Cold Irons Bound - Complete version, excerpted from the film Masked And Anonymous, Recorded July 16, 2002.”
Mike Ollier:
“I didn't read the Guardian review until last night... I've never liked Alexsis Petridis as a writer and now I like him even less! Yeah, he gave it 4 stars, but he hardly touched on the content of the album. After I read the headline, on the front page of the web site as a link, and which I thought was very funny (and accurate!), I was hoping for an incisive piece of writing... but my heart sank when I saw who the author was. Never mind, they gave Slayed 5 stars over the page”
