Bob books bonanza: now Douglas Gilbert's photos join the fray
The latest must-have Dylan product to join the discounted ranks is the exquisite collection, Forever Young: Photographs Of Bob Dylan (Da Capo Press, 2005, hardback, $29.95), showcasing over 75 of Douglas R Gilbert’s beautiful 1964 studies of Dylan in Woodstock, NYC and Newport, with text by Dave Marsh.
Shrink-wrapped for protection, the book has a bonus packet of four 8 x 10 pics on photographic paper “ready for framing”. The kind minimum-wager on the twilight shift who packed the copy I bought had mistakenly enclosed two packs of photos, in error. Bo-nus!
Virgin are now offering this wonderful artefact for a difficult-to-believe £5.99.
