Street-Legal - encore
Thanks to Martin Cowan:
“I agree - Street-Legal is another underrated gem in the Dylan catalogue. “I remember that when I first heard it, when it came out, I just didn't get it all - couldn't hear the words, all I was aware of was some strange songs and lots of saxophone! “However, as this album was one of my dad's all-time favourites, I got to hear it a lot while I was living at home, and soon came to appreciate these excellent songs. “Once the remix came out, it was even easier to get to the greatness of this album. I seem to remember that it was well received on release (possibly as it coincided with Dylan's first UK shows for 12 years - hard to believe in these Never Ending Tour days!) but the critics have been unfairly harsh over the years.
“It became an album to knock in the not-so-great ‘80s, but perhaps, now that it can be heard as its maker intended, people's views will change.”
