Dylan and… , part 2
What do they of Dylan know, who only Dylan know?
Writers who can convincingly place Dylan in context – both of his musical and literary antecedents and of an evolving America – are not exactly ten a penny.
Judas!, the Dylan quarterly, has published numerous “Dylan and…” articles in the magazine’s 16 issues. I listed a few last week; here are the rest:
Number 10, July 2004: Angles And Triangles, by Nigel Hinton (Dylan and Thomas Hardy)
Number 12, January 2005: Gotta Go Like Elvis Did: Dylan’s Toasts To The King, by Padraig Hanratty
Number 14, July 2005: Waking Up To A New Morning, by J. R. Stokes (Dylan and William Blake)
Number 15, October 2005: Dylan’s And Rimbaud’s Wounded Shoes And Bare Feet, by Guido Bieri
Number 16, January 2006: Exhibiting Dylan, by Alan Davis (Dylan and John Ruskin).
