More on Dylan fan fatigue

Thanks to Mark Stevens for his response to the discussion of fan fatigue:

“I thought the ‘gig weary’ entry showed particular depth and understanding, especially in dealing with the thorny subject of the ‘fraternity’.

“As someone who's only seen 15 shows (since 6/10/88, my first, with #16 and #17 coming up in Stockton, California and Santa Rosa, California), it has ceased to be amusing to be taken to task for ‘under attendance’ or ‘inexperience’ (especially when the individual this comes from is inebriated in some fashion).

“Am I the only one who's witnessed full-boil loud arguments between ‘superfans’ DURING Bob's set? (I've actually witnessed this twice...what a drag.)

“One of the main reasons I keep going to shows is the variation in set lists from night to night (and please, if one more person tries to argue with me that Bob doesn't do this, I'll scream, it simply isn't supported by the abundant documentary evidence that he DOES). As a longtime musician, it's a bargain for me to get a master class in song performance at each show, even the ones where things don't work.

“I really don't mean this to come across as rancor, and do get on very well with most of the ‘tribe’, but did recognize a familiar theme in the posting. Well done, see you on the road!
