Win the Dylan back catalogue! Bob in the mainstream (3)
Thanks to Paul H, who writes:
“Yes, you can’t escape Dylan in the retail world at the moment – his image is everywhere. And how about the new link-up between Tesco and Uncut? Tesco, England’s biggest retail chain – by some distance – has joined with Uncut, the high circulation Dadrock monthly, in a Dylan promotion you can hardly miss.
“It's based on a competition to ‘Win Bob Dylan Back Catalogue – 27 Albums!’ Uncut is using it to stimulate circulation - you get to enter the competition and a £1 voucher for your next purchase of Uncut at Tesco. The supermarket chain is using it to promote sales of The Essential Bob Dylan 2CD.
“Result: yet another Dylan portrait - the handsome cover of The Essential Bob Dylan - is staring out at a high proportion of English shoppers from Tesco’s groaning magazine racks.”
Editor: and what a curious collection of albums they’ve chosen to promote as the ‘back catalogue’. Honorary title of Dylan Daily’s Dylanista Of The Week goes to the first reader to send a list of the 15 or so albums excluded from the ‘back catalogue’.
