The esoteric in Dylan’s writing

Yesterday’s mention of Christopher Rollason’s fine writing on his web site, The Bob Dylan Critical Corner, reminded me of a typically stimulating recent article, his review of a new book on the influence of the esoteric in Dylan’s writing.

Rollason’s article, Look Inside Your Mirror, is an examination of a new Italian language book, Bob Dylan – The Last Chevalier, by his Critical Corner web site partner, Nicola Menicacci, which tracks the esoteric content in Dylan’s writing between Blood On The Tracks and Oh Mercy. As Rollason concludes, Menicacci’s is a “startlingly original contribution”.

If you thought you knew Dylan’s work, but haven’t yet read this piece, you’re in for a treat!
